The perspectival mappings of space visualized in these gouache studies follow the logic of spatial transformations applicable to affine geometry. Pigments placed in delineated spaces carved out by linear maps erupt into fields of color vectoring in an ungrounded space of a painting. Using new geometries and perspectival arrangements, the paintings disrupt habits of vision by joining movements not usually connected in a painting’s traditional visual field.
